Currently, I am a volunteer designer at my local art gallery, The dA Center for the Arts. I really am lucky to be a part of this establishment not only because I have the opportunity to create experimental designs, but I also have a part to play in the community. The dA is not just an art gallery, but a meeting place and a place of comfort for the community in Pomona. Throughout the week, classes are taught in music, dance, and art. The dA is working towards creating a connection between the citizens of Pomona and bringing creative life to the community.
These were part of a poster series created for a Simply Red exhibition. The exhibition was a call to local artists to submit their work to the dA for a month long exhibition where their art would be showcased. There was an opportunity for their work to be sold in an auction where a portion of the proceeds would go to the artist and to the dA. I also was tasked with creating the initial flyer that was passed out to the community.
